What merchant account should you use?
Time and time again I get customers that ‘jump the gun’ and go to the bank and get a merchant account before they have a website or shopping cart system. This is usually a bad idea for many reasons. For one you want to make sure you have selected a shopping cart that you will be happy with first. Could you image having a merchant account that is only supported by one shopping cart and that shopping cart sucks? Second how do you know that the merchant account you just got is the best deal? Just because its through your bank doesn’t mean they gave you the best rate. Read more…
Shopping around for a cart?
An action plan for your next ecommerce endeavor
Ok so you want to sell stuff on your website…great! How do you do it? What do you use? Who can do it for you?

Think of it as a totally different concept compared to traditional hosting. In traditional shared hosting you are on a server with hundreds and sometimes thousands of other users or hosting accounts. When a user’s traffic or activity goes up it affects everyone else on that machine and ultimately the performance goes down and sometimes your website and email go down too until an administrator kicks the abuser off or the activity goes down. This is similar to an apartment complex…when everyone uses the hot water at the same time you either get very little hot water or no hot water. Read more…
Link Farms…Stay Away!
The SEO service world is still like the wild wild west. Many customers fall into the trap of SEO ‘promises’ or ‘guarantee’s’ by companies that use link farms and other scams to artificially drive you up to the top of the search engines. Participating in these ‘bad neighborhoods’ can get you to the top but once google or other search engines catch wind of everything you could be caught in the trap too and get black listed. So basically you could lose your ranking and the money you spent with the company that promised you the path to the top. Read more…
