Getting Rid of Yahoo’s Masthead in wordpress

Getting Rid of Yahoo’s Masthead in wordpress

So you’ve moved from Yahoo’s hosting services and moved your wordpress blog over to a new host…fantastic! One thing…you still have that annoying yahoo header on the top of your wordpress admin area. This can be confusing and can sometimes make people think they’re still on yahoo’s hosting when in reality they are not. What to do? No worries…before you pull your hair out of your head its a simple fix.

1. Use a file manager or ftp to access your website files. (If you did the move then you’ve already figured this out)

2. Locate your blog files (either its in your main root or its in a folder like ‘blog’)

3. go to this area: wp-content/plugins/

4. inside the main plugins folder you should see a few yahoo related files. Delete this file ywhmast.php once its gone the yahoo header on your admin area will be gone.

5. That’s it…as always make sure you have a backup of all your files!
